Just need to vent as obviously I have learnt my lesson :(
Our 4 month old often has cuddles in our bed in the morning and I always make sure it's safe - no blankets etc near her. Just now I got up to make OH an espresso (he was still asleep in bed) and left bub on my side of the bed (there's a side car cot so she can't roll off). I was gone less than a minute but was so terrified when I got back her face was covered with my pillow and she was kicking her legs. I ripped it off her and she looked fine but did take a big breath :( I can't believe I did something so stupid and forgot to move my pillow away, I didn't think she would be strong enough to grab it and pull it like that but I normally move it off the bed in case. I hate to think what could've happened if in the kitchen I'd decided to make myself a coffee too - which I nearly did! Ugh :(

Lesson learned. Shes fine mumma, just remember to take the pillows away next time :hugs:

:hugs: mistakes happen lovely, but we learn from them. xx

Thanks ladies, felt like such a horrible mama. And I'm usually the most careful and overly paranoid person! Definitely needed to get it off my chest anyway so thank you xx

How upsetting! She's ok and these things happen. I had something similar happen to me once, I freaked out even though it was only seconds long. A good reminder to assess the baby's surroundings.

My daughter was playing in her pack n play when she was about 3 months old. I stepped into the yard for a few minutes to bring the dogs in and when I came back in she had spun herself around and grabbed a blanket that was draped over the other end of the pack n play and pulled it down over her face. It was a loosely knitted blanket so she could breath through it, but I was still freaked out! These things happen and we learn from them! I sometimes find it hard to anticipate how much she will be able to move and how strong she is because her abilities change so quickly from day to day.

:hugs: dont beat yourself up hun mistakes happen and nowyou know she is strong enough to do it you can avoid it happening in the future xx
