Hi
I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right place or not but I'm hoping someone will be able to help me.

After 15 months of TTC I got a :bfp: on Sunday 15th March, 4 days later on the Thursday I started bleeding. It was bright red blood, quite watery with a lot of ewcm and lasted for 3 days. I went the the Dr on Monday and he basically said either outcome is possible and advised me to wait a week and then test again.

So my question is if I have miscarried how long would it take for the pregnancy hormones to leave my system?
I'm worried that I'm going to do another test and get a positive because I still have the hormones in my system.

So sorry you are going through this uncertain time & after 15 months of TTC, that's just so cruel :hugs:

When I had a suspected chemical pregnancy my tests were BFN a few days after the bleeding. I think the HCG levels are quite low if you lose a baby that early on, so drop off quite quickly.

If it's been a week or so, I'd restest now, if it were me.

Thanks a lot - I was 5+1 when the bleeding started (a week ago today) and in a way am desperate to test again and in a way I don't want to!!

I miscarried 15 days ago i was 5weeks, i bled from the wednesday til the friday, so only 2 days andi tested yesterday and got a :bfn: so all the hormones are out my system now, i think each individual is different, I know what you are going through and so sorry for your loss, i had been trying for 14months, xxxx:hug:

Ps also i heard once you have passed everything and the bleeding stops, the hormones should be almost all out your system? xx

Another thing I thought of, have you contacted your local gyne/early pregnancy unit?

Doctors can be quite useless I've found, but the hospital teams are much more specialised.

You can sometimes see a sac at 5 weeks & by 6 weeks you can often see a tiny fetal pole & yolk.. so maybe if you test & still show positive, then you can get yourself in for a scan to see whats going on.

I don't want to get your hopes up, but I know plenty of people who have bled & the baby has been just fine, so you might just be one of the lucky ones, especially if you haven't passed clots.

:hugs:

Thanks - I haven't done yet - the Dr did mention that I could have a scan if I really wanted to but he didn't recommend it - I got the feeling that he wasn't keen but if I had pushed it I could have had one.

Apparently we have a self referral system her to the midwife team and I have the number for them so my thinking was that if I get a positive when I test again then i'll phone the midwife and explain everything thats happened and ask about getting an early scan done then.

When I started bleeding I thought that was it and it was over and was coming to terms with that - the thought never crossed my mind that everything could still be OK - it wasn't until I went to the Dr and he said either outcome is possible that it got me thinking. I now go from feeling really hopefully that everythings still OK to thinking that I'm being silly and clutching at straws!

With a normal period I usually have quite large clots but with this bleed there was other "stuff" there along with the blood but nothing major and nothing like what I would expect if it was a normal period iykwim. The bleeding was light/medium - I probably could have worn the same pad all day and i didn't seem to be bleeding at all over night.

I just don't know what to think at the moment - i'm driving myself mad! I've got my Mum coming up tonight for a couple of nights and she knows everythings thats happened but I don't want to test again while shes here in case it is negative and then it'll but a dampener on the time shes here.
