Need some advice please ladies. Over the past few weeks I've been having odd feelings in my tummy. Initially I put it down to cramps from IBS but now I'm not so sure. I had my son 8 months ago by elective section and had no issues. The last few days if I've sneezed or coughed I've had this odd feeling like a baby kicked mixed with a contraction going up one side of my tmy. Its uncomfortable enough to make me jump. I did a pregnancy test a few ago which was negative. Anyone had similar? Could it be a damaged muscle from the section?

It's hard to say what it might be, but I definitely had this when my daughter was a little over a year old. I had a natural vaginal birth, so nothing to do with a c-section. But I just felt weird and bloated and like I was developing a bit of a bump and I felt very obvious kicks and movements. It was really strange! My friend actually had the same when her son was a a similar age. It really freaked me out and I was convinced I could be pregnant. I wasn't. I was under a lot of stress with work and I do actually think it was IBS and just gas and digestion issues. I changed how I was eating and tried to reduce stress and it went away. Probably the test you took was pretty accurate since those wouldn't be early pregnancy symptoms, but test again if you really aren't sure. Otherwise, I might follow up with your GP in case it is something related to muscles due to your c-section. If you notice you've been eating badly or stressed as well, see if you can change some of that and see if it gets better as well. I absolutely thought i was losing my mind for a bit though!

Thank you! I haven't tested again as like you say, to be far enough along to get kicks it would have shown then. I have a strict diet from issues with gallbladder so yeah if I mess it up then I get lots of tummy symptoms. Its just not like that now. My husband could see one side of my belly moving like when baby tumbles around but obviously isn't that. Might have to go to gp as I freaked me out totally xxx

I'm experiencing this! I've just started new medication and put it down to that, but it does feel exactly like a baby moving! I'm definitely not pregnant though

Can I be cheeky and ask what kind if medication? Anything gastro/gyn related? X

I've had 3 c-sections and never felt anything like this...
Maybe worth getting it checked out by a doctor !!
hope you get some answers soon as to what it is x

Its definitely not phantom kicks, was so strong that made me have to breathe through it like a contraction. Have a surgical appointment next month for unrelated thing but will ask x
