Something that really peees me off about christmastime/winter

My car doesnt bleeding start!
It starts up and then it just shuts itself off and i have to stop turning it back on because the engine will flood, i tried like 15 times to start it over the course of the day to no avail and now the bloody batteries dead

Its been averaging at minus 3 for the past 2 days though, not getting any higher than 0 and it did have a massive coating fo frost on it, but still
im soo annoyed, i couldnt visit my nana today because of it

This happening to anyone else, or am i alone here?

is it an older car?

we have only had this problem with letter reg cars none of our newer ones have done it maybe take it to the garage and do a battery test and if its rubbish buy a heavy duty car battery or the car starters out of argos

it is an older car, renault laguna sport...about 9 years old, was my dads before mine lol.
Im using OH's qashquai tomorrow for work and he's gonna try and get it fixed so hopefully it'll work again tomorrow, but its just frozen, maybe the anti freeze has gone?
we cant even keep it going for more than 2 seconds...literally

asked my Oh he said the battery i remember when my gran had an older car in winter after useing the car and it had cooled down she would put a blanket under the bonnet seemed to help abit till she but it on 2 soon and set fire to it


my oh said is it petrol or disel ?

ahh i know i hate it, and also, getting the lids off the bloody de icer cans...they just DONT come off no matter how hard you pull
Or maybe im just too weak

oh said sounds like its proberly the battery or the altonator ** the thingy that charges the battery and keeps the car running**

my OH better get it fixed tomorrow haha, my uncles a car mechanic so he has no excuse to not do it this time haha and i dont like driving the qash, i get nervous someone will bump me or scratch it and he'll kill me! That car is his baby lmao.

lol men and cars my oh went nuts when his wingmirror got scratched going down a little road where a house backed striaght on to the road and some ****** came speeding along ( this is a one car road at this point ) and our wingmirror ended up rubbing along the side of the house so we did not end up in a crash.. he has a black car and it was only the plastic so got out a marker pen and coloured it in hahaha

lmao sorry dont mean to laugh that your car wont start ... but i knew it had to be a Renault

If you get stuck with it let me know and my OH can prob point you in the right direction he's been one of Renaults specialist's for the last 15 odd years.

Ive never had any problems with mine fortunatley, think im just a lucky one!!

tbh polo this is the first big ish problem, but i know what you mean, the air con hasnt worked now for about 5 years, and the people who service it etc cant fix it, its just an unexplainable fault lmao.

I bet this is the start of a downwards spiral for our ol' renault, next i'll lose a wheel and the boot will open as i drive
