My eldest (nearly 3) has started to become subdued and distressed when my partner comes to see us. Im very worried by this as he is a very sensitive child and he seems so upset by my partner. Im not sure why this has started as even though he was wary at first he's been fine for months but now he is so upset. Any advice or suggestions please

just a question - has he been alone with your partner at any given times? has your partner scolded him or told him off about anything? Could be his sense of awareness and understanding is increasing with age e.g Starting to understand that you have a new partner in your life and what this might mean and doesnt want to share mummy with anyone?

I know he doesnt want to share me he doesnt even like sharing me with his brother. He had a similar meltdown tonight and it was when his nana was leaving which happened when partner was there too last time. So im wondering if its actually nana leaving that causes it. She's just been away for a month and normally he sees her 4 or 5 times a week and he went 4 weeks cold turkey now she's back he's a bit upset when she leaves so I think that is the main cause.
