Soother Expiry?

Hey all,

I read an article that advises to throw out the soother after a few months so you don't risk tears in it etc. I noticed one of mine has built up gunk at the base that I cant seem to get rid of. Obviously its time for a new one now but how often do you buy new soothers to replace out the current ones? Thanks

At a guess none of our soothers have lasted more than two months before getting lost and replacements bought, does that count? I haven't noticed any gunk in that sort of time frame.

I suppose it depends how much you use them

Ds uses his for about an hour a day so I've no plans to swap them (he has 2). I sterilise them quite often. If he used them more I'd probably replace them after 3 months or so, or if I noticed damage/gunk.

Thanks! We only use them at naptime so I have no idea how this one got gross.

Somehow ive never lost one either!

I used my nail to scrape the gunk out (and then sterelise of course).
We replace them every few months. I have an unratual addiction to buying them so we have 100's and I can't imagine any single one gets used much.
