Sore latch on

Hiya

Harry was born with a tongue tie and bf has been extremely painful because he used his gums. He had his tongue cut a week ago and thingshave improved loads, 100% better.

Thing is though he doesnt open his mouth really wide and latch on, instead he just sucks it all in like spaghetti and it really hurts for the 1st minute or 2 until he relaxes his mouth.
I try all the ways of getting him to open wide but he just doesnt.

Does anyone else have this or have any advice please??

Have you tried brushing his lips with your nipple? Or sandwich your breast between your fingers and guide it in.

Hebe still doesnt open wide - I touch between her nose and top lip with my nipple and sandwich as above. You'll get it over time. I had to wiggle my toes for the first few seconds thru the pain!!! Your nips soon toughen up ( not literally ) x

Please can someone describe/explain what sandwiching your breast is??

I think sandwiching will be holding your breast behind the nipple, thumb on top, fingers below so that you can guide the nipple in and help baby to latch.

One MW told me not to touch my boob at all (idiot woman) but Byron cannot latch without my help guiding my boob and then creating a little dimple at his nose so he doesn't suffocate!
