Sore throat = pregnancy symptom?

I've got some questions and was wondering if anyone has answers or similar experiences.

I am 8dpo. I was wondering if a sore throat could be a sign of pregnancy? My throat and my head and my body are very achy, and the roof of my mouth feels sore. I am exhausted and cranky. I don't feel like I have a cold, though. But I feel lousy. A little over a week ago I finished a course of antibiotics for a sinus infection and was feeling great.

I have also been incredibly thirsty - drinking tons of water for the last three days. Like almost two gallons a day. I have also had some light cramping, which is unusual for me before AF, but for all I know it's all that water!

I do have a doctor's appointment tomorrow to follow up on the sinus infection. I'm hoping to get a blood test. Can a blood test detect a pregnancy at 9dpo? If I'm not pregnant, I hope they can fix me so I can get better and get pregnant!

A cold is def a symptom. Whenever you are pregnant your immune system weakens (even in the very beginning). If you get a quantative blood test it should be able to tell you if you are pregnant or not. xx

Thanks for the replies! I did go to the doctor and they didn't want to give me a blood test yet...oh well. But I did get some safe antibiotics to help with the sinus/mouth problem, so hopefully I'll be feeling better soon.

In the meantime, I have had about 5L of water today. Not kidding! They figured it was because of the infection.

It could be a cold, but I have heard cold/sore throat does happen early in pregnancy. I have heard people having that as a symptom.

It's actually really common to have cold-like symptoms when pregnant. Fx!

I agree with the other ladies...it could be a symptom, but I wouldnt get my hopes up.
Last cycle I was sick once AF came and once I ovulated all the way until AF arrived again. So all in all, it was just a cold that never went away.
I hope it is a symptom! Good luck!
