Posted on first trimester too :-)
I am 9 weeks in second pregnancy, first pregnancy i didnt have spd but did get hip pain in labour (through the epidural!) and hip problems until i stopped bf at 6 months.

All last week i have had an ache in my bits and upper legs and hips nothing to bad but annoying. today i took it easy and the pain had gone UNTill i just got of the sofa and My bits clicked loudly and it now feels like i have been kicked in the pubic bone
Ok the pain is bearable but I thought spd started much later and am having images of being a cripple in a few month time. Is this how it starts?? andf does it always get worse? is there anypoint in seeing the midwife about it or do i just have to grin and bear it. I had a rough enough pregnancy without this last time so dont know how i will cope if this gets worse.
just after advise :-)

Hey hun, sorry your feeling so rough! Yes it could be spd, and the hormone changes could be affecting the ligaments around your pelvis. I was born with cdh, and have had spd my entire life (although pregnancy makes it worse!) but i don't find it is always terrible, some days are good, some awful, some moderate....so no i dont think you will feel like this all the way thorugh, howver did you see a gp, or physio last time? Hydrotherapy helped me, plus some prescription painkillers. If it's not spd the pain could actually be coming from you sacro illiac joints which cause sharp pain in your groin, down your thighs and lower back either side of tail bone. Pelvic problems are common in pregnancy, and an old problem could be returning from your previous pregnancy...alot of ppl mistake hip pain for si pain so it is important to visit a professional and have a thorough evaluation hun! But DO NOT just suffer...i can empathise. x x x
