Hi Ladies,

I wonder what realistically are our chances for a BFP with such low sperm count.. Only 23% or less than 3 million are progressive. Only 19% or just over 2 million are with normal morphology. Last time we did not get pg until his sperm got to the ~40 million mark, and over 80% were progressive and had normal morphology.. This time, in spite of everything, all the supplements, the healthy eating habits, it has stayed low.. Any of you had luck with a similar sperm count? Any of you had to move on to IVF with ICSI?
He has just tried acupuncture, and I hope it DOES something.. We are officially trying next month.

Many thanks xx

The bad news is that pregnancy is very unlikely with those numbers. The minimum for a shot of pregnancy is usually considered to be 15-20 million/mL, and with those numbers it can take a while. Progressive motility should be at least 40%. The average for "normal" chances of conception is 60 mil/mL

The good news is that problems with sperm are usually a much easier fix than female problems. Acupuncture is definitely good. Since the supplements aren't working, it might be worth it for him to see a reproductive urologist unless you'd just rather proceed to IVF. A lot of times there is a simple infection that is easily cured with antibiotics, or some other very easy thing. The fact that he's been able to get you pregnant naturally before is a good sign that he should be able to do it again.
