Thursday evening I had a very spicy pizza, with jalapenos and chilli base instead of tomato. Yesterday and today LO has been full of wind (both directions). My tummy has been a little dodgy too, but nothing I would usually notice if it where not for LO being so windy.

Is this a co-incidence or has my spicy pizza upset my baby's tummy?

Spicy foods did it to all of my kids every time! Had to pass on the spice till I was done nursing.

Could well be, whenever I get windy so does Mia!!!

Spicy foods used to make liv windy before she started eating solids. Didn't seem to bother her though, just made her a stinkeroo!

I never really noticed much of a difference to be honest so I ate spicy foods all the time. Now she's weaned, she LOVES curry!

I definitely noticed a difference in the beginning - she'd be really restless and cry a lot more than usual when I ate onions or broccoli :nope:

Now when I eat spicy things or beans or anything like that she is definitely windier but thankfully she doesn't seem too bothered by it, and as Lu says, I'm hoping that the more flavours she gets now the more she'll like when she's weaned

I noticed he reacted to jalapenos (I got them on pizza a couple of times and everytime his colic went mental and he had green nappies) and curry. I got a korma one night thinking I'd be safe but the poor thing suffered for it. He's OK if I have onion bhajis or bombay potatoes so I don't know if it's a particular spice or something.

H has had terrible wind/colic... I looked at the suggested foods to avoid and cried... its everything we eat (vegetarian) so I just had to get on with it :(

it probably was the pizza.my lo doesnt seem to be bothered by spices but any time i have egg, which isnt very often its bad, lol. we use alot of spices regularly when we are cooking so maybe my lo is used to this, perhaps if we hardly ate anything spicey it would have an effect like the egg. dont think theres anything we can do except avoid the culprit foods :/ x

i have never noticed an effect on my LO and I eat spicy foods all the time. I would eat the same food again a few more times until you can say for sure that it will be a problem.

now you say it my lo has days when she is constantly blowing off and she is usually grumpy when she is like that probably garlic as well i think

When i have a curry ewen gets realy wind/ colic. So no more curries for me!!!
