Spina bifida test result

How long does it take approximately for the spina bifida results? The lab took my blood at my 16 week appointment and that was almost 2 weeks ago, still no results.

I got my results at my appointment 4 weeks later. You can call and ask though, maybe the results came back okay and they didn't call for that reason.

Maybe... if that is the case, then awesome. Usually they post blood test results on my health record online, but I haven't seen anything for this yet, so was wondering how long it took. Next appointment is in 2 weeks, I'll probably ask my OB at that time.

Oh yea.... I can't view my health record online so I just called about something else and then the nurse said, "oh your latest blood results came back good." Then, my doctor told me at my appointment 2 weeks later as well. I usually think that 'no call means everything is okay.'

I think I'll call them next week. Husband just passed his cold to me and now I've a sore throat which has left me unable to talk to anyone.

Mine came back by the end of the week, so 3-4 days.

With my first one, I got the results at my next appointment. With this one, they called me about a week and a half later because we tested positive. I'm sure they'd call right away if there was a concern.

With my last pregnancy, the test came back with high risk indicators for spina bifida, and my OB called me right away (it was about a week, I think). With the others, who had normal levels, I believe I just heard at the next appointment. So, no news is generally good news in this case.


(Oh, and by the way, he's fine - no SB - but it was a nervous weekend waiting for the ultrasound)

Glad your DS is fine. I guess I'll chalk up to having no SB and that is why the doc's office did not call me about the results. Next appointment is next week, so I'll get to know the result then anyway.
