spironolactone whilst TTC

I am WTT #2 and with my first i came off spironolactone months in advance of TTC.Now ive read lots of conflicting views saying that it only stays in your system for a day,and although its not good as it can cause damage mostly to a male fetus,thats only if taken whilst pregnant
Does anyone have any experience of TTC whist on Spiro? i dont want to come off it too soon as it helps with skin problems and hair growth

I can't say that I have taken spiro while ttc, but I know that dr.s do not recommend taking it. I have always been told to treat your body like you are pregnant while ttc because you can become pregnant at any time. IMO, it's not worth the risk of harming the baby. If I were still taking it, I would be using protection. While ttc, I wouldn't take it. Just my opinion though. Talk to your doctor and do what you and he/she thinks is best for you and your future baby.
