Spotting for 7 days

I am now on cycle day 23. Ovulated around cycle day 15. I have been spotting on and off since Thursday last week. It isn't even enough for a pad and it is there when I wipe or check my cervix. I'm not due for af for 6 more days and if this is af she showed up at least 13 days early. I can't get in to see my ob until Tuesday next week and that just to see the nurse practitioner......my Dr is out the rest of the week and is booked solid all next week. I made an appointment with my pcp for tomorrow, but I'm not sure how much help he will be. I'm so completely confused as to what is going on. My husband and I have been actively trying to get pregnant for almost 16 months with out any luck. Has anyone else had this happen to them before????
