spotting??

Hi everyone, I have not had any AF now for 12months. But was started on Metformin just over 1 week ago. And on the Friday just gone, I had some light browny CM, this happened a couple of times through out the night, but then there has been nothing else since. Last night though I had a very uncomfortable back ache all night, (I did not sleep well at all!!) Any body have any ideas as to what is happening??? I'd really appreciate some input!
I was also planning on starting medroxyprogesterone tablets tomorrow morning to hopefully kick start my AF!!
