spotting

I know i keep posting on here but i am so worried.
I have been spotting for the last four days it has eased a little now, but what concerns me though is earlier ( 4hrs ago) i wiped a long stringy thing sorry tmi. I have read things about the embryo and it has scared me now. I am still pregnant aren't i.

I really can't answer your question completely; perhaps you should ring your doctor and try and get an appointment asap?

I'm sorry that I can't help, but the 'long stringy thing' could just be a clump of mucus and have nothing to do with pregnancy itself, but I would try and see the doctor....

Thanks for the reply. I have been to the doctors this afternoon and he has signed me off work for a week to get complete rest. He is not my usual doctor, i am seeing her on Friday, and tbh he didn't really know much about the baby side of things. I have got to take a urine sample in tomorrow. I might just be worrying too much Fx'd.

Hi Tweety Pie,

How far along are you? I'm 7 wks pregnant and kept having spotting off and on for the past 3 weeks. My dr did my first ultrasound yesterday and the baby is fine but come to find out I have a 1 cm subchorionic hematoma that was causing it. Talk about being freaked out, I really was because I was passing tiny blood clots as well. Talk to your regular dr and see if he can do an ultrasound and find out why you're spotting.

I am using a progesterone cream and i have read that it can cause spotting. I have now lowered the dose. I am seeing my GP friday so hopefully she will have some answers. I so frightened it's taking the excitement away.

I'm also on prometrium, which is a progesterone suppository. I'm taking 200 mg (twice daily) vaginally. I originally thought it was the prometrium causing the spotting because I to had read it can cause spotting.

Hi there Tweety, I just did a search for 'stringy discharge' and found your thread. Im 7 weeks and the last few days have been getting dark brown stringy discharge and a little spotting. Did you find out any more info as to why it was happening and did it continue after your resting? I had an early scan, both ultrasound and transvaginal,and the gestational sac was there with embryo, all in the right place, but it was too early to see a heartbeat.I also have slight cramping like pain. They sent me home and advising me to orgaise anoter scan in 2 weeks time.Do you think I have anything to worry about?? Thankyou

Hi My "stringy stuffed" went away after a couple of days resting, the doctor said it was inplantation. I really don't think you have anything to worry about. I went for a private scan at 9 weeks and found out i am having twins, so please try not to worry.
