Hi everyone,

I only joined up to this site yesterday so I'm pretty new here.

I woke up at 4am this morning for a pee and when I wiped there was blood on the tissue. I have been wearing a sanitary towel all day since, and there is not blood on the towel, however, every time I wipe, there is blood on the tissue.

I have spoken to the Early Pregnancy Unit, who told me to have bloods taken today (which I have done) and on Friday to see if the pregnancy hormone levels in my blood are okay. They said it's too early for a scan, as at 5.5 weeks nothing will show up. Unfortunately because my next bloods are being taken on Friday I will not get the results until Monday.

Five years ago I had a miscarriage, I was with a man whom I knew was not father material and I knew he was not the 'one', so in some respects I was relieved, I had been considering a termination, I was in a way relieved not to have to make that awful decision. But now I am with a wonderful man, who will make a great father, and we were both over the moon to be expecting. My family keep telling me to keep positive as lots on women bleed in early pregnancy, but I just can't persuade myself that this might have a happy outcome.

Also if I lose this pregnancy then I will have had two miscarriages and I'm sarting to wonder if I am capable of carrying a baby to full term. Sorry it's all so doom and gloom ladies. Just wondered if any of you had had a similar experience.

I'd really like to hear anything you might have to share, whatever the outcome was for you

My first pregnancy with my DD I bleed after sex a little it was pink on the tissue Dr said it was OK. Later went on to get preeclampsia had to have her early but she was just fine.

My second I bleed with him every month for 2 months 3 days each cycle. Didn't know I was pregnant because I thought it was AF, but was so sick I went to see Dr. They did blood and told me my HCG levels we high took a test and found out I was 9 weeks. All turned out good there too.
So it isn't always doom and gloom. Hope everything is OK.

i have bled with my little girl and also with this baby and everything is fine. i had a miscarriage last april but i lost a clot so it wasnt really bleeding.

bleeding is really common in first tri so try and relax x

Im really hoping that everything is okay, but if its not, after having 2 miscarriages, you should look into being put on projesterone the minute you find out your pregnant. I know so many girls who have had several miscarriages and once they where put on it everything went perfectly! Spotting can be totally normal though and I really hope your numbers are ok.

Thankyou all so much for the replies, they are encouraging, and I am trying now to be more positive.

I have to wait now and see what happens, but I will post here to let you know. I has really helped to hear that others who bleed go on to have a healthy pregnancy, so thankyou all.

Hopefully you will be ok. My friend found out she was pregnant when she was 4+2, then at 5 weeks, she started bleeding, it was red blood but not loads so she went to the doctors who referred her for a scan which she had at 6 weeks. Everything was fine, the baby had a heartbeat and the doctor was happy that everything was as it should be. She's still haven't bleeding now on and off (she's probably around 8 weeks now) so hopefully she's ok and hopefully the same for you as well.

Try and take it easy for now. Don't do anything strenuous. And I know it's only natural to worry but try and stay positive xxx

Thanks Susan, for your message. Hopefully, like you say, it will be okay, I'll just have to wait to see. And I wish you well with ttc again x

Hun, try not to worry just yet, it may just be implantation bleeding. A friend of mine bled from 6 weeks and was coinvinced she was miscarrying - her little boy is now 7.
Fingers crossed hun that it is all ok for you, let us know how you get on x

Hi Just read ur story,

Try not to worry as easy as it sounds! as my doctor said that bleeding isnt uncommon in some pregnacies , may be rest abit extra , i bled through my 1st pregnacy for 3mths and being young at 18 i didnt even know i was pregnant, i thought it was my period jus lighter? So was shocked when they said i was pregnant and instead of 3mths i was 5mths!!! She is now 8 and half and fine

All the best with u and keep us all posted and try keep positive much luv and hugs xx

Hi there, I just want to say I hope it goes ok and I will have my fingers crossed for you.
XXX

Thanks Chella and Mazza, it's so nice to hear kind words from the people on this forum, and so reassuring too, I will let you know what happens x

Heya, Just noticed your not far from me, how did your bloods come back? I hope they were nicer at SH Hosp than they are at macc, I had blood done today from an absolout pig of a GP who really didnt see it was his job and really hurt me (blood from wrist!!)

Fingers crossed for you :):)

Hi Claire,

They took blood on Thursday and I got the results Friday, they came out at 6000 which apparently is a little higher than expected (maybe a good sign?) but means they will not double so quickly. I was advised to change my second blood tests from Friday to Monday to give them chance to double. So I'm going back tomorrow and will get the results on Tuesday.

I have not actually been to SH yet, although I have been in contact with the midwife from the early pregnancy unit there, and she has been lovely over the phone. It's the nurse at my Doctors surgery who has been doing bloods, but I'm booked in for a scan on Friday morning at SH. I'm a right wimp, so they better not be awful to me......wimpey and hormonal is not a good combination, if they hurt me I'm likely to hurt them back!!!

Sorry you had a traumatic time with ur GP taking blood (from ur wrist?!) Good god, what was he thinking!! Hopefully next time you get someone with more of a pleasant bedside manner! Are you TTC or are you expecting?

Hello again,

Just wanted to update, you all. My HCG levels rose from 6000 on Wednesday to 13000 on the Monday, the nurse was happy with that. I went for my early scan this morning and was wildly relieved to be told that everything is fine at the moment. Baby is in the right place and has a heartbeat....it was lovely to see. I thought I was seven weeks and 1 day but have been put back by two days, so I'm six weeks and six days now.

I know what this does not mean I am out of the woods, but it was a huge relief and boost to see the tiny heartbeat. Thanks to all who showed concern.

So glad to hear the good news! Best of luck for the rest of your pregnancy.

Thats good news for you then. I'm sooo glad for you....hope all stays well xxx

Oh I am so glad to hear this.
There is nothing quite like seeing the HB for the first time!!

Good luck hun xx
