Started to bleed

After feeling so optimistic and encouraged by seeing the heartbeat on Friday morning, and being told that everything looked fine, I have now gone back to misery. I started to bleed again yesterday (Saturday) and it is heavier and has already lasted longer than last weeks bleeding. The last time I wiped there was some very thick, black blod on the tissue (TMI, sorry) is this what people refer to as a clot?

Anyway, I have been advised by NHS direct to put my feet up and then call the EPU again tomorrow to see if they could re-scan. I am hoping that I am one of these women who bleed repetatively through the pregnancy but have a good result at the end, but I fear that I may be heading for mis-carriage number 2.

Are you cramping hon? Bad cramping normally comes with miscarriage. Also the MC looks like black current jelly. The clots are normally quite big. Some describe them as like liver, my Mum described hers like black current jam/jelly. Also is your AF due around now? At 6 weeks probably not but you can bleed when AF is due. I bleed at 12 weeks and it turned out to be fine. Keep positive hon

Hi Pippin,

My last period began on Jan 29th, so I suppose it would be around this time that I would expect to come on. I have no cramping, just continuous bleeding. I don't think I passed a clot, it was not that big, more like a smear of thick mucus that was black because of the blood. I am sorry to be so graphic. But this is what happened last time, I lost blood continuously for a few weeks with no cramping, then it radually got heavier then I actually had the miscarriage, and with that there was some abdominal pain.
I am trying to stay positive though, and am praying that the bleeding will clear up soon.

Awww hon, glad there is no cramping but as you have been through this before I guess you'll have a pretty clear idea soon but every pregnancy is different remember. It's positive that it's your period time and this is what's causing the bleed, my Mum had a light bleed at her period time for both me and my brother so can be normal. I bled bang on my expected period time too. Rest take plenty of water and take tomorrow off work just in case. xxxx

AW, I hope everything is ok! They're really good at SH if that's where you're going - all the nurses are really great! Hope everything works out for you. Try to rest if that's what's been ordered!

Thanks Thirdtime, I am at SH and you're right, all the nurses so far have been pretty good. The bleeding has stopped again for now, so I'm cautiously optimistic.

I don't come on here much but I have been following this thread of and on since it was posted. I hope everything works out for the best for you. To try and give you some hope I thought I would let you know that a good friend of mine had the same sort of experience as yourself in her early pregnancy and it was down to there being a gap somewhere between her womb and something else which was filing with blood this would then cause a bleed and then it would stop again.
I am so keeping my fingers crossed for you and hope that it could be something similar.
