starting 1st IVF with ICSI in SoCal next cycle...anyone else??

Hi ladies-
My husband and I have been ttc for about 26 months....after multiple rounds of clomid for me, we found out a few months ago that we are dealing with male factor infertility and will have to do IVF with ICSI...we'll be starting at my next cycle...whenever that may decide to begin! anyone else around this timeline?

I just started my first IVF/ICSI cycle. On Lupron now, suppression check on Thurs, and starting stims (Gonal F and Menopur) next Saturday.

Best of luck to you, tulip! You're a few weeks ahead of me, I hope all goes well and you get your bfp! We are dealing with male factor infertility, so we'll need to do ICSI. How long have you been ttc?

Thanks! We've been going at this for 3 years. Husband's sperm is ok but not great. My clinic does something like 99% ICSI. They want as many eggs fertilized as possible. (I think they said on average 70% fertilize with ICSI).

My dh is having bloodwork and final SA done TODAY....i'll have my initial bloodwork next week sometime, and then we just wait for my body to tell us it's time to start....do you know if ICSI is charged per egg fertilized or one set fee for however many eggs are harvested? I can see that cost adding up fast if it's per egg!!!

ICSI is one set fee. I think for us it is almost $2,000 (we haven't paid that part yet).

Yes the best of luck! I started on my first ivf cycle and it did not go so well.

I had 18 eggs taken and only one fertilize and to top it all off I was in the hospital for 2 weeks due to Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome. OHSS on a severe level, now going on third week and I am trying to recover from the painful incident and the bad news about my eggs. They said it was due to my age. So my one egg that was fertilized is in the freezer. They just suggested for me to try ICSI.

I have been crying all day since I heard the news and I realize I need to pull it together because my partner cant deal with the stress and we are just at beginning stages.
