My sweet daughter is finally here! I still can't believe it.
On Thursday I was just busy running errands with my mom. I was 3 days over due. At the doctor on tuesday she told me I was still 3cm dialated and 70% effaced, the same as the last two weeks. No progress. Ugh. She went ahead and scheduled me to be induced saturday but I was still praying to go into labor naturally. So anyway I went about my day and got home and had dinner with DH and watched some tv. I was pretty uncomfortable but that had been normal the past few days. I had a sweep just 2 days before and had been losing my mucus plug for the past few days. We decided to go to bed so I went to the restroom and when I wiped I noticed that I was having my bloody show. I was happy knowing maybe my body was finally starting the process. My DH got into bed but I realized that I had forgotten to rotate the laundry so I went and did that, picked up the living room a tad and put some dishes in the dishwasher. That was when I started having back pain. Worse than what I had had my whole pregnancy. So I decided to try and lay down but the pain was still there and getting worse. That was when I realized that the pain was recurring. I realized these may be contractions so I decided to time them... they were 5 min apart. So I woke up DH and told him I was having contractions and that I was hoppng in the shower to see if the heat would affect them and if they were real we should probably head towards the hospital because it was 45 min away.
Shower did nothing to contractions and so I got out and got dressed the whole time having to stop to deal with these contractions. We got in the car and started driving towards my moms to drop off my dog. We were about 1/2 way there when I realized that my contractions were 3 min apart and way worse. I was having to brace myself just to get through them. We called my mom and told her to meet us at the hospital. We got there and I was having trouble even walking into the hospital between these contractions. The nurses took one look at me and knew I was definitely in labor. They were all really sweet. The nurse checked me and I was 5 cm dilated. It was the most painful cervical check I had ever had. Ouch!!
It took them over an hour to get me checked in, IVed and through with all the preliminary paperwork. The pain was awful, radiating up my spine. I also had to have a pencillin drip because I was GBS positive. Finally they got me all hooked up and were ready to give me the epidural. WOW! That is the most amazing thing ever!!!! It feels so amazing. It didnt even hurt all that bad to have it put in. I think thats because the doc that put it in was a pro, I kept calling him Mr. Wonderful. haha
They checked me again after the epidural and I was already 7 1/2 cm. I had so much adrenaline running through my system that I was shaking pretty bad. They told me now would be the time to rest but I was shaking so bad that I couldn't relax. Soon after I felt a pop and my water broke, thankfully I had already had the penicillin. They checked me one time after that to confirm that I was now 9cm. They called the doc just to let her know that it would be happening soon. The nurse started telling me to push and I was pushing with everything I had. After an hour I was still pushing and her head was visible. The doctor came in and had me push but after seeing how tired I was had me stop. She told me that she thought we needed to get the baby out because I was to tired to push and if we kept going at this rate I would need a c section. So we decided on a vaccum delivery. They got everything set up and when my next contraction came my doctor told me to push with all I had. 2 pushes and there she was, my beautiful daughter. She was placed on my chest and I started bawling. I couldnt believe she was finally hear.
I unfortunately had alot of litte tears on the inside that required stiches so I had to indure an hour more of pressure and discomfort as they stitched me up all while holding my legs apart for me because my body was trying to close them. I got really upset because all I wanted to do was hold her. They finally finished and they placed her in my arms.
Stella Noelle was born weighing 8 pounds 7 ounces, 21.5 inches long. She got a 9 on the apgar. She is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen and I would do it all over again for her. She has been bf really well. We are all pretty exhausted here but the love for her is so strong that it out weighs the exhaustion and the discomfort from healing.
Here are so pictures of our beautiful girl![Smile :) :)](/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/icon_smile.gif)
