Stopped breastfeeding two weeks ago but breasts still engorged

Hi All

Posting for a friend.

She stopped feeding her 11 month old over two weeks ago however her breasts are still extremely engorged and very sore. She's always had an abundant milk supply however I would have thought they would have gone down by now.

She went to the GP not no help really.

Anyone experienced this?

Following the birth of my daughter who was born at 23 weeks but sadly passed, I was terribly engorged. I went to my GP and she told me to bind my breasts tight and drink andrew salts. I had to drink it 3 times a day for a week but after 2 days, I was feeling alot better. Good Luck xx
