My husband has a low sperm count and I was wondering if I had a stronger ovulation would it be easier to get pregnant with a low count.
I was thinking about taking soy isoflavones to try and increase my ovulation and possibly hyperovulate because I was thinking that might help the few sperm there are find the egg easier.

Hey, sorry to hear about your struggle. We also have a really low count (our lowest ever was 6 sperms our highest 0.1m). I don't know about stronger ovulation as its not something we have investigated but I'd be really interested if you find any science behind this. Every little helps right?!

That is how I look at it too, every thing even if its little will help. I feel like if a woman's fertility is better than it will help a little with a mans lack of fertili but I don't know can't hurt though. I have not been able to find anything on google about stronger ovulation helping with low sperm count. I will let you know if I find anything.

I am afraid I just don't know.....I was put on clomid as my husband's sperm count was so erratic - initially, plenty of it and slow and then pretty much - little and very slow......The consultant at the private clinic we went to said that even on the clomid, it would be really difficult for hubby's sperm at the quality that it was at to make me pregnant.....

We had IVF and hubby's sperm really did improve with a whole change in lifestyle - no caffeine, little beer, healthier eating and taking supplements. His sperm improved 40% but sill a bit slower - but progress!!

The IVF failed:cry: so until we can go again - we are trying naturally and trying all sorts to improve my egg quality and conception - castor oil packs, royal jelly etc.
Just also hoping that I can give me a torpedo start if hubby can't.

I don't know if it's possible to have a stronger ovulation but as you say every little thing helps.

My Chinese doc (Dr Zhai, no less) was quite sure that if a woman is in good health she can get pregnant with any kind of sperm count. I personally doubt that very much.

We also had IVF/ICSI and it ended in chemical but at least there was some kind of "action", in 3.5 years TTC naturally with low sperm count I have not had even a sniff of a bfp. I do not even think his sperm ever made it to my eggs. I am now looking into IMSI which seems to be better at picking good quality sperm for IVF.

I know it's probably not what you want to hear but based on my experience try vitamins and lifestyle changes for 3-6 months and if his sperm does not improve radically it probably never will and unless you are young and have many years to try I'd recommend looking into IVF. I actually cannot believe I am advocating IVF cos it took me 2 years to come to terms with the idea of IVF but once I tried it and almost got there it just for the first time gave me a real hope.

btw, you can also ask Rich here https://www.fertilichat.com/forumdisplay.php?13-Male-Infertility he is brilliant and knows everything there is to know about male factor and vitamins

Emmi- I'm sorry that IVF failed for you. That would be very discouraging but a 40% increase is encouraging. What kind of vitamins/supplements was he taking?
Right now my husband is taking:
Maca
Tribulus
Coq10
Acetyl l- carnitine
L-carnitine
Men's multi plus extra vitamin C and E and zinc
I am making him eat Goji berries. All we drink is water, and he is starting to workout regularly again. We are eating healthier and neither of us smoke or drink.
I am taking prenatals, l- argintine, coq10, and royal jelly. I have also done the castor oil packs and it always felt like they were helping.

The multivitamin that he takes and the prenatals that I take are rainbow light brand. I love that brand because they use natural ingredients and they are food based.

Briss- we are considering trying ivf but for now we are trying everything we can to improve sperm count and my egg health to see if it will be possible for us to conceive naturally. He is taking all kinds of vitamins and eating healthier so after about 6 months of this he is going to get another SA done, and hopefully we will see an improvement. I am sorry to hear about your chemical pregnancy that must have been heartbreaking.:hugs:

Hi Melts - it's really good that my hubby's swimmers improved, goes to show that things can change. A big issue on top of all this has been stress in his job - it's detrimental for so many reasons but other than walking out of his job - we have to ride it until he finds something else. Fingers crossed - things are a little better at the moment so I am praying that his stress levels go down and his sperm improves.

Sounds like your hubby is doing all that he can so that's really great. I think if you feel that you are doing everything possible then you just feel better. My hubby is on these

The clinic recommended them - they don't have the garlic oil needed but I use a lot of garlic in cooking so I think I have that covered!

Really hoping that your husband's sperm improves - as my Dr keeps saying - it just takes one.....Baby dust to you. x

I am thinking of switching to ProXeed® Plus. I have heard some FS recommending in prior to IVF.

Well I will hope for you that he finds a less stressful job soon. Good luck! I feel like I get to worried about stress and then I get more stressed so I just try not to think about it haha. However my husband is under a lot of stress right now( he wasn't when he had his SA done). He is amazing though because he is not complaining about everything I am making him do.
I keep trying to tell myself it only takes one too. We just have to keep our hopes up and do everything we can.

Thank you!! As if the conception journey isn't hard enough without all the other crap that life the throws at us!!

I think so many things are stressful these days but it is just about taking time out and nourishing yourself - whether it be yoga, swimming or walking the dog  Awww - sounds like you have a keeper there:happydance:

Keep the faith - I know it's hard sometimes but we just have to believe that we will get there!!!!:flower:

I think that someday we will as long as we can keep our hopes up like you said.
Good luck! I'm sending lots of baby dust your way!
:dust:
