I want a name thats not gonna make people say what like so an so. Like for instance Zane, every1 says what as in alex Zane, billy Zane, Zane lowe?! Its really irritating :( but i dont want 1 thats too out there that he'll get picked on forever.. Its so hard givin some1 a name theyll have forever! Help?x

My sister friend's boy is Zane - I think it's really cool. :)

If you pick an unusual name people will say 'what, like....' My LO is Hebe (hee-bee) and they say 'What? Phoebe?' or 'Hebe? as in the plant? I've got some in my garden'. TBH I dont think you can avoid it when you pick something slightly out of the ordinary. People are just getting their frame of reference or what ever - just making sure they get it right :)

I wouldn't have thought of any of those people as I know an Aussie guy called Zane. I also think it's a cool name!

i dont think they will remember billy zane lol when he starts school. It sometimes irritates me to what names may refer to but its your son and your choice of name,so its totally up to you and what you feel comfortable with and of course what suits his character or lill face when born. From the names i have seen you pick out im sure there will be no bullying there very nice strong boys name.
xx

They are all adult associations, once people have got to grips with it (it's not that hard IMO!) then it shouldn't really be a problem. People just say the first thing that comes into their heads, it does irritate me too.

My friends little boy is called Fabian, its not 'like' anything but its still quite unusual. I saw you also like Leon - another good choice!

I really like Zane, my ds is called Kane and everyone struggled with it in the beginning but couldn't imagine him being called anything else now

I think Zane is very cool (really like Kane/Caine too) and tbh I didnt associate it with any of the people you mentioned . xx

I have a cousin called Josiah, he has always been know as Jos at school. I think it's a great one.

I don't like the name Zane. It is too close to insane. The kid will probably get teased and be called insane Zane. I don't know, it's just my opinion. I have a hard time picking out names too.

My boy name is Nason...I thought I made it up but I guess it's an actual name!

It would sound nice with Ellie and Noah!

Zane is a cool name, plus i don't know any of the "Zane's" you mentioned... how about:

Zayden
Caiden
Xavier
Zander

My three teenage boys have unusal names and never been bullied quite the opposite and they love them especially with the girl attention :haha: They called Rhys, Wade and Gage xx

These are a few boys names that were on my list (though we've decided on Oliver :flower: I love it because it's traditional enough but I don't know of many men/guys by that name).

Elijah
Noah
Lukas
Remy
Lennon
Gabriel
Rohan (aka Rowan)
Emmett
Leo
Liam
Brooklyn
Findlay
Quinlan
Oliver
Aden
Flynn

I think Zane is cool and just a personal opinion but all the Zane's people have mentioned to you are pretty cool guys too!
