So, a thread I have been participating in has thrown open a new suggestion to me, which is inserting a soft cup after BD to keep the semen close to the cervix. Before I embark upon this (along with the other 3000 things I am trying this cycle) I just wanted to hear some opinions from people who may have tried this.

Thanks, X:blush:

Hi Hope...

I brought some a few months back and did try on a few occasions, they do the trick as the leakage (TMI) is very minimal...:haha: and you can also still use the loo with them in as well.
We are TTC with low sperm count, unfortunatly no success yet, but we keep trying.

All the best

Tina :flower:

We tried softcups when we BD during the day, last month & the month before, to stop leakage.

Nothing last month, but I got a BFP the month before (13th cycle TTC since the last MC in March 09) sadly it only stuck for a week.

Better than the usual BFN though! xx

Thanks ladies and good luck to you both. What other methods are you both using? I am on my 1st cycle with clomid. Really sorry you have experienced m/c's dan-o, it's heart breaking at the time I know. X

OPK's to pinpoint fertile window & softcups for me, and plenty of BD!
Tried most other things, but to no avail, lol.

I'm waiting to get a FS referral, so unmedicated at the mo. We do have lower mot/morph swimmers & a varicocele x

What is a varicocele, if you don't mind me asking? Sounds as though mot / morph not too bad if you have conceived twice? Hope OH is doing all he can lifestyle wise to make them better! Hopefully once you see FS it will all start moving quickly in the right direction. X

Thanks :)

No it's not that bad 10% morph, 39% motility :) Not much more he can do to be honest, bless him.
It took 2 years exactly of TTC to conceive the 2 BFP's seems like forever tho!!

A varicocele is a varicose vein in the scrotum :flower: xx

I completely agree, it has been almost 2 years for us too and in that time just one mmc. Hopefully we will both get our BFP's v soon and go on to have happy, healthy pregnancies. Varicocele sounds ouch - is it being treated? X

Sorry to hear it's taking you so long as well :hugs:

They can remove the varicocele, but that's about it. OH not keen on that idea, lol!

Yes, I can't wait to finally get a referral. My GP wanted me to wait until september before referring me, but I'm putting my foot down next week when I go to see a different GP!

Did you get clomid from your GP or FS? xx

I hope you get an appt. soon - it really helped me as I felt we were finally in some sort of system. Before I saw the FS I felt totally helpless and couldn't imagine getting my BFP. The FS gave me a letter to take to GP for clomid prescription, I will have my blood tested at the hospital with results back from FS Secretary... I have unexplained if and borderline results on previous bloods so the FS said lets treat it as though you don't o/v and taht is why I have clomid. I soooo need this to work! Don't blame OH for not wanting surgery. X
