Hi my lo is almost 10 months and I am wanting to make some traditional meals that include gravy, eg veg cottage pie, roast dinner etc. Obviously normal gravy contains far too much salt for babies, therefore does any one know of a safe alternative or a good recipe for a suitable veggie gravy?

Many thanks in advance.

You can get heinz baby stock cubes that could be used to make a gravy :)

i use to use the heinz stock cubes but tbh they have just as much salt if not more than some of the normal ones..

so i just used low salt ones now. she doesnt have salt added to any of her food. xx

What about making it from scratch? If you don't add any salt to your cooking, then your gravy shouldn't have too much salt. Maybe make one salt free batch for baby from your roast, then freeze the leftover and use regular gravy (from the granules) for yourself so you don't have to make it again for awhile. Less added junk and preservatives too.
