hi alls, i had my babe on the 28th march at 13:30, (5 days early) just got round to writing my birth experience.
I was woken up at 1am on the 28th by Niagara falls between my legs, i stood up in shock and GUUSSHH ha ha. i started to panic (this is my 1st so didn't know what to expect) it was unexpected i had no pre labour symptoms. I rang Triage and they said come in so i got dressed and with my OH set off to hospital its only 15-20 mins away. mild contractions started in car and by the time i was on exam bed they were really painful. i had to really concentrate hard. they took me to a birthing room and checked my cervix- 4cm dilated, so had gas and air. worked great .. still felt pain, but it took the edge off. after a while, gas and air wasnt working so they gave me an injection that didnt work 1 bit! they kep saying give it time to work but by this time i was in agony! i were having urges to push!. So i had epidural, the most painful thing about that wasnt the needle, but trying to keep still while having a contraction. i was clinging to my midwife while they did that. when it kicked in i could still feel pain so after 20 mins they topped it up. then life was bliss! i slept a little. i couldnt move my legs much they felt heavy. babe needed the clip on his head to monitor hb as CTG machine kept loosing it. then the pain started to come back.. they said they prefer it to wear off a tad so i can feel when to push. they checked cervix again and i was over 10cm!! push time
i had mw pick my legs up on the stirrups as i couldnt lift them, and started to push, 3 hard mf pushes per contractions. pushing actually helped the pain. Anyway little did i know babes hb was dipping to 70bpm so i had to get the cut and have ventouse delivery. i am happy my partner lied and said hb was 120+ when i asked as i would have panicked!. after 30 mins of pushing my gorgeous baby boy was born

weighing 8lbs 6oz. i cant believe i remember all of this as i was so out of it lol. my OH was amazing the whole time and mw's were fantastic. i held my boy while i was being stitched up and delivered placenta.. which i didnt see i was to distracted by my boy 
i have to take iron tablets 3x a day as i lost 5L of blood!! i felt soooo shit. breast feeding is horrible for 1st week but i assure you it does get better/ easier. the sleep is hard too and afer 11 days have finally got him to settle in his bed rather than my chest. i feel normal now.. cut pain has gone and no longer look like a corpse. all i can say is that it truly is an amazing experience. and good luck to everyone on the birth of your babes, and thanks for the support.
