Hi, this still amazes me so felt I needed to share
My due date was yesterday (24th May) and for weeks had loads of BH however
On Monday my midwife checkup showed high BP so was sent in to hospital for monitoring for 5hrs, BP came to an acceptable level so was allowed home, on way home started with medium contractions which only lasted 5hrs then fizzled out
Tuesday - another BP check showed it had risen again and had a + protein in my urine
Wednesday - still high BP but only trace protein and given til Friday then would be admitted to hospital
Thursday - lg woke me at 7am (no signs) got up and went down to make her milk and hubby a coffee in bed, 7.15 went to bathroom found bloody show, went to wee and POP went waters!
Started will dull back ache straight away, went to tell hubby but told him not to panic and to go give lg breakfast. Rang hospital to let them know (I had to with high BP) and they said pop in for a check up (30 miles away) but don't hurry you've got ages! 8am went in shower, 8.15ish rang my mum to arrange her to come look after lg and pains were fairly intense and mum said you do realise they are every 3 mins ... I think you need to ring local midwives you won't make hospital. So I rang them and within 5 mins one arrived (this is 8.35ish) she got me on the sofa which was agony I couldn't move with pain and she checked me and as she did I said I need to push, 3 pushes later and out pops my new baby girl born at 9.15am! Exactly 2hr labour!! Really didn't expect it as my first was a 36hr back to back going no where so needed inducing then ruptured and lost over a litre of blood but this time no complications what so ever.
So pleased it was simpler and at home
So now a very proud mummy to Megan Faye Scott 7lb 9oz
