Surprise BFP with spotting

Finally got my bfp after not even a hint of one for 2 years! I had my normal red and brown spotting starting around 6or7 dpo like every month. My spotting has always been my sign that I'm not prego. But yesterday (12 dpo) when my period was about due, I randomly tested bc the smell of eggs that morning made me gag and there it was! I wasn't expecting it whatso ever! I'm confused what all the red spotting was and I'm currently still seeing a tiny bit of brown.

It could be implantation bleeding! Spotting can be completely normal. I had spotting with my last pregnancy and this one.

Thank you! And I hope so.. It's just I have it every month...for many years now. And it was same this month. So I have no idea what causes it yet.. I have a 3 year old and that's the only reason I found out I was pregnant with him bc I didn't spot that month.
