It looks like there's a ton of home birth midwives in your area, especially around Ann Arbor (as is to be expected, frankly, since that's exactly the kind of place you'd expect to find a lot). I'd probably start by getting in touch with a few of them and asking any questions you might have, and possibly scheduling a few initial consultations if you think it's something you'd want to do. You obviously don't have to commit to anything yet, but I bet they'd have a lot of great info for you.
