We switched the bottles we were using (Tommee Tippee) to Dr.Browns as heard they were a godsend for wind problems but we're still struggling, she seems so uncomfortable and sometimes even cries because of the trapped wind :( we have just tried a bit of gripe water (shes only just 4 weeks) but didnt seem to help either!

I really thought these bottles were going to help :( i dont know what to do!!!

Why not try infacol. Takes a few days for it to work but it's great stuff.
Also have you done baby massage? Just youtube baby massage for colic, there are tons of videos. Try and burp her after every ounce, and keep her upright after feeds, I know that's for reflux but I found my baby was always more comfortable kept up after his burps.
What have you tried so far?

We burp her after every ounce and keep her upright. We have tried different teat sizes and gripe water. I will have a look at infacol & massage. Thanks! xx

Iv tried everything myself including dr browns and infacol i had to stop giving her infacol because she was throwing up all her milk straight after drinking
my baby is now 5 weeks i have had her on 5 ml of gripewater after every other feed and she is releasing all her wind i have also found a special formula which tackles colic acid reflux wheezing and many other problems i am waiting for it to be delivered it not available over the counter but is expensive 14.00 for 400g it called nutramigen lipil 1st milk
goodluck

We just switched to Dr. Brown bottles today because LO had so much trapped wind and was spitting up a lot. So far, no spit up, good burps and he's darting up a storm pain free  we also put him on a gentle formula for gas and fuzziness, as well as the massages and having him sit up on our chest for awhile after feeds. Burping after every ounce didn't work well for us but I know it does for a lot of others.

I'm in the same position as you! We were using tommee tippee but changed to dr brown (I use then with dd) because one he didn't do well with timer tippee and he has such bad gas and cries a lot from it. I am putting colief in his formula on top of switching the bottles, still no change so his dr changed him to gentlease formula and I bought gas drops to give him by mouth. I try to massage his belly after and dying feeding but nothing seems to be really working right now. And since being on the gentlease I can hardly get him to burp. Before I could get him to burp very very good, like 3 good big burps per ounce to ounce and a half he was drinking no I'm lucky if he burps once.
His seems to be worse at night and he seems much more restless at night after eating then during the day, so the past 2 nights both of us have gotten little to none sleep at night. He will be 4 weeks old on Monday.
Is your lo's worse at night?

This is something that I found out with DS #1 (not sure if it will help anyone else). If you use powdered formula and make bottles up right before you use them they tend to be really "foamy" I think this added to DS #1's farting and spitting problems (he used Dr. Brown's bottles too, but they did work better than others!). Try making bottles ahead of time or buying a formula stirir. We ended up switching to RTF and he did a LOT better!

Are you 100% sure it's trapped wind. My baby had what we thought was wind problems and nothing worked. So i thought maybe it was reflux, tried SMA staydown and immediately had a different baby altogether. If it is reflux, you would notice the difference in no more than 3 feeds if you try SMA staydown.

What SMA?

I never thought about that with the bottles I make bottle in the morning for the day but just started this a few days ago. I was making them as i went but it just took to long with a hungry crying baby in your arms.

I think SMA is a brand of formula in the UK.

Yes it is. It's a milk that thickens when it gets to the stomach which stops it from coming back up again, which stops the reflux and the pain that goes with it. Basically just a thicker milk.

Probably similar to the version of Similac for spitup.
