I've been offering my daughter a sippy cup if water with meals for months now. I have tried many different ones and I think the Avent ones are working the best. What kinds of things should I offer her? I started with just water. Now I will do like 2 oz apple juice + 5oz water just to try and get her to drink (yes, I know that juice is not the best choice). This morning, I put EBM in the sippy, and she took like .5oz, and thats it. I feel that I wasted that EBM because I had to toss it. Does anyone have any suggestions on other fluids to try or ways to make her drink more? I just don't want her to get dehydrated......

Thanks!

If your lo is still bf regularly then she isnt going to get dehydrated but i would offer the sippy cup as much as possible. I usually leave one in his reach all the time. My lo has always loved water so i just offered that but if you are worried then try a bit of juice.

Just let her play with it and try not to worry about the amounts. If she's still getting plenty of BM on demand, she won't get dehydrated. I'd just stick to water in the sippy cup for now because as she gets used to it, she will make a complete mess with it. Better to have water splashed all over your kitchen than juice and they don't need juice anyway. We found offering her the sippy to play with in the bath helped at first as she could really explore it without making a mess everywhere or soaking herself. As she's gotten better at handling it, we set it out on her tray for every meal. I don't think she really drank from it at mealtimes at all until about 9-10 months though and even now doesn't drink much. As long as they are getting plenty of milk, there's no need to worry about the amount of other things they're drinking as long as you at least offer it.
