Sooo this is what LO took yesterday (She is just over 3 months)

7.30am 150ml
10.30am 180ml
2.15pm 150ml (hungry baby)
6pm 180ml (HB)
woke up on and off from 9.30pm then eventually fed at
10.45pm 210ml (HB)
woke up on and off from 1.30am then eventually fed at
2.30am 100ml (restricted the amount)
4.30am just would not settle again, tried everything so took 60ml

Now she won't take her morning feed, I am worrying she is starting to take too many calories at night and this is stopping her morning feed. However in the night when she wakes it is almost always that she is really hungry..she is not cooing...really crying. We soothe her to sleep or try cooled boiled water (although only tries this once) and then she wakes again 15 mins later wanting food.

She has become increasingly unsettled and taking more food so I think it is a bit of a growth spurt, as she should be going longer than 3hrs after 210ml of HB :nope:

Any ideas??

Hi

What was she like before the hungry baby? I put Earl onto HB and he would wake twice a night. I've now taken him off it as it didn't agree with him and he only wakes once now and it's pretty late on (today for example woke once at 5.15 (7oz) and just had his morning feed at 8.30 and took 6oz).

Just a thought as I had a pretty similar experience with Earl where he would only take 3oz at a time in the am as he was taking 14oz overnight!

Funny you should say that I was considering trying this, we went onto HB as after her bedtime bottle she was waking 2 hours later wanting another full feed :dohh: Maybe will try just normal tonight and see what happens, couldn't be any worse

Thanks!! These hungry babies :dohh:

Heya, yeah my LO is just the same as yours hun, she never really wants her morning bottle, and I have to force about 3 oz into her. When she was the age of your LO she had a major growth spurt for a couple weeks and wanted feeding every 3 hours overnight even on HB, but she is settling down now, and I have persevered with just giving her water at night as otherwise like you say it's a real battle getting her to take her first bottle and it then messes her up for the whole day!

I caved last nightand gave her a feed... she only took 3oz at 4.30am after her waking up over and over again, but she still didn't settle after it, so I know she wasn't hungry, at least now I know I won't feel guilty about giving her just water. think she's starting to wake out of habit now, doh!!

I would suggest to keep feeding her at the mo as I reckon she's having a growth spurt then maybe in a couple weeks try just water again? xx

We too have taken her off HB and she is sooo much better, more settled and going longer between feeds. Still waking at night but not as much - that HB is going in the bin!!!

I had to do the same thing! Waste of time for us. I've kept the half a tin for now as we're snowed in lol....but as soon as I can get to the shops to replenish, it's going the same way as yours lol. As far as I'm concerned, as long as it's not silly frequency then he can stay on first stage!
