Tampons after birth

So after 10 months of bliss the dreaded time of the month has arrived!

I absolutely LOATHE sanitary towels, and found it really difficult with my 5 week bleed after having LO.

We are taking her for her first swim tomorrow and I want to be in the pool with her, but I'm petrified of using tampons again 😳

I had a 2nd degree tear during labour and afterwards my stitching failed and got an infection. I'm all cleared up now, but because stitching went I haven't healed quite like I should have done (doctors words) I haven't felt down there and I'm really worried I'm going to be horrified.

I really don't want to miss her 1st swim though.

Anyone had 1st time tampon experiences after birth and how long did you leave it till you started using them??

I waited a period or two before using tampons again, and I didn't get my cycle back till 4 months pp, so I'd say I started using them around 6 months pp. Sex pp was painful so I was hesitant to use tampons but I started with the slender ones and used them only during my heavier flow days. It was a bit uncomfortable at first, I felt like I could feel tampon inside all the time, but it got better (or I adapted). It's so weird having to deal with that again after more than a year period-free. Good luck.
