I sent of my Child Tax Credits claim form week beginning 11/13th June and i havent heard anything back no letter, nothing.

I've tried phoning a few times but it never goes through to talking to someone on the phone, OH has tried now too and i've tried 3 times again today.

Its really starting to piss me off, what should i do?

you need to call and get through to someone cos form could have been lost and the longer it gets left the more you're losing out on backdated money.

Its quiet at tax credits now, call them, best time is usually 8am on a sat or sunday.. should get through straight away

Yep i agree with Poaitive, i rang early on a sat and got straight through. If you go through the options and it doesnt work then press a different one and when someone answers just act dumb and pretend to have pressed the wrong button, and ask to be put through. Ive done that before as the number i kept choosing kept putting me on hold then cutting me off so i tried a different department as i think they had a prob with the line. x

just to let you know.. it doesnt matter which option you press- they all go to the same people anyway. its only done so they can monitor the reasons why people are calling. so as soon as u here an option just press 1 and keep doing so til u get an advisor!!

Is it a new claim or a renewal? Just so you know, everyone who was renewing had to do so by the 31st July, and I think they may have got themselves a bit behind with the claims. I sent my renewal off in May and I only just got my award notice this morning. They had kept paying into my account so I wasnt too bothered, but its very annoying when you're kept waiting.

If you cant get through on the phone, you could always try going down to your local inland revenue office? I had to so this a couple of years ago as I couldnt get through and my payments had stopped. They sorted it out there and then and gave me 2 weeks worth of money in a giro that I could take to the post office to get cashed as they'd left me so short. And it was all sorted within a week.

I'm in the same boat too hun only with my working tax. I had phoned to renew (which was basically the same income I estimated the month before and told them - only my working hours would be reduced to 21 as of the next week) and they totally cancelled it instead of telling me at the time they cant input future dates into their system! I've been waitin since June to get it back up and running and I've phoned and sent letters and all they tell me is "it's being processed" - taking aaaaaaages and they've never been this slow before, dunno what's going on!
