I rang them just over a week ago as Charlie's nursery fees went up starting 1st May. While I was on the phone, I asked them if I had to wait for our renewal form to tell them the our estimated income for this year would be a lot less and she said that she could take all of the information from me there and then.

As I'm on SMP, our joint income for 09/10 will be about £8k less than 08/09. I've had the update through today, and our tax credits have gone up by £135 a week!!!!! :happydance::happydance: We're getting over £1k every 4 weeks!!! :happydance::happydance::happydance:

And I've done our renewal for last year and I had under-estimated our joint income by £3300, so we should hopefully get some back on that once it's sorted!:happydance:

No wonder we've been so bloody skint for the last year. We can finally start chipping away at the credit cards we've had to use to live on!!:happydance::happydance::happydance:

Yes it does - we pay £468 a month on nursery fees. But last year we were only getting £242 a month in tax credits!

Lovely:wohoo:, i thought r income last yr was 15000, turns out it was just over 12,000 so fingers crossed we shud get some more pennies as well.

V xxxx

I had put my income at 11,000 but was a pure guess because it was a new job. When I checked our incomes mine was only 6000. What does that mean? Will we get more money each week or will it be a one off? I've never underestimated so much before.

Sorry for hijacking btw lol

Boo, we get like £20 a week cos of what I was on before maternity leave........next year isn't much better if I don't go back to work, but my job is FT only so need to look for a new job. Calculated I need to earn under 8k a year to actually get anything worth while.

It seems that if your income is over 40k then you get no childcare help, and very little anything else - if i go ft I will be paying £700 a month in childcare, out of a £1100 a month salary.......for a 160 hr month. Not much point as that £2.50 an hour :(.

OMFG!!!!!! I've just logged onto Internet Banking and there's a lump sum of £1600 in there!:shock:

They must have done the final calculations for last year! That means we should have been getting around £150 more every 4 weeks last year. We've really been struggling and can see why now!

I cried when I saw it! :happydance::happydance::happydance::happydance:

I'm going to do so much shopping this weekend!!!! :rofl:

thats fab hun, so glad you have got what you are entitled to
