I know we have to pay Tax and Ni which pretty much sucks! Going to leave us with nothing :(

Does anyone know roughly how this works out ... what sort of figure can we expect to actually get?

Trying to figure out finances at the moment as Oh has been offered a new shift, which is nicer in the longer run for me returning to work but its a little less money!

Thanks in advance

It's not a great deal....I think you get about £100 of the £120 after all deductions....You've already paid a lot of taxes on your wages so it wont be a great deal. You can also ask for your tax to be re-calculated to see if you are due a rebate.
I agree it sucks though.....just doesn't seem right to pay tax on a benefit....why don't they just make it less for everyone to make it fair, or stop taxing it...can it really be earning them that much?

apparently after tax it equates to £500 a month (someone else worked it out for the girls on here a while ago)

You will get about £121 a week, as they have to calculate the tax and NI on a running basis.

Not to bad then :)

thanks for all your replies girls!
