I'm a BF so am a bit confused by the bottle. I don't understand why it happens and decided you lot would be the best to ask:flower:

Niamh has a bottle at night, but after about 4 minutes the teat is like inside 'boob' bit. Does this make sense? And then I have to take it off her, take the lid off so the pressure releases and the teat pops back out. And obviously this then un settles her.

They're Tommee Tippee closer to nature ones. I don't know what I'm doign wrong. Her old ones (the small ones, she now has the 9oz ones).

Hiya, this is happening to me, i think its because the they are sucking to hard and not enough is coming out! What size teats are you using? x

The only time I ever had this problem was with the Tommee Tippee Closer To Nature bottles that I got with the steriliser, my Dr Browns never had that problem x

This is the problem with TT bottles. Make sure that the vent on the side is working properly to get the air out. Sometimes it gets blocked after sterilizing.

I'm sorry, but what vent? The little valve thing? I checked that and it wasn't opening from what I could see so cleaned it out etc, and it still looks no difference so thought it must not look any different when it is working.

I'm not sure Beth, its 0+ I think. Does that make sense?

I might try another bottle, do they need to suck differently on different types of bottles?

I think u need to move 1 size up (3-6). If u want to change bottles, invest in Dr, Brown's ones, they'r the best in my opinion, & there is no teats problems. Get teats size 2 (3-6 mnths).

Before you sterilise the bottle, squeeze the little vent so that it opens. Then it will be fine. They are normally stuck shut when you get a new teat, so do this with all of them, and with any new ones you get in the future.

If the valve is stuck the air can't get in, so the milk won't come out and the teat collapses.

I have a special needle that I use to wiggle around in the valve to open it up!

hiya yes this is commmon with tt closer to nature bottles; before you make up the bottle just give the vent a bit of a squeeze - also whilst washing give them a squeeze every now and then. they often get stuck closed.

Hiya, I have just been in contact with kiddicare where I bought my TT bottles as the new batch of bottles I bought all seemed to have collapsing teats and I had checked the valve and everything. I noticed the other day that little hat shaped rubber thing at the bottom of the anti colic valve was split. The ones that were split were the ones that had the collapsing teats and yet the other ones were fine. When I called kiddicare they arranged to send out some more and pick up the faulty ones so now none of Megan's bottle have dodgy teats. I hope this helps.x
