Teat size???

My LO has colic we have been using infacol since weekend and he has been a different baby so much more settled.

When he takes his bottle he sucks so hard the teat collapses, should I increase teat size. We currently use tommy tippee closer to nature bottles. I was worried if we increased teat size he would drink even quicker causing more wind? He drinks 5 fl oz and only takes about 10 mins to drink.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks x

I would maybe try to TTCTN variflow. Its a tricky balancing act between too fast and too much wind or sucking so hard and too much wind!

For some reason I think that the TT nipples collapse easily. We use Avent now and it hasn't been an indication that the teat is wrong - only eating/falling asleep less because its hard work.

Have you checked the vents are not stuck together? Our son collapsed his teats but the vents were stuck together, we check them each time we make a bottle and since then he does not collapse the teats.

This is the one annoying thnig I have found about TT bottles. The vents are very tempremental! When we used them the first few times none of the vents on the teats worked, even after squeezing them before/mid feed. Now that we have been using them for over a week and they have been washed and sterilised over and over SOME of them have started to work, but some of them are still being stubborn! Hopefully the vents on all the teats will start to work properly over the next few days! xxx
