so little zack has bad wind, we use dr brown and infacol but after 3 oz of milk the rest of bottle is a struggle as he wants to drink but gets all fustrated... now im planning to try next teat size but could the smaller one we are on cause more wind?

I would think so yeah, he's likely to suck harder and therefore suck in more air with a too slow teat. I would try the faster teat...
Sounds odd but have you tried burping him before you start a feed? Babies take in a lot of air when they are lying flat apparently.

thanks hun! no not thought about burping him before, will give it ago... i tried the faster teat with the last feed and he seemed happier with it, no gagging or it spilling out of side..

Feeding does seem to be a distressing time with the wind if thats what it is... can only but try different things..

morgan was on size2 teats b4 he wasa wk old the small ones made him tired ,i think u shud x

Mia was on the small ones and it would take her forever to get through a feed, so we got a faster flowing teat and she gets through it much quicker and seems to have less wind too. Oh and she no longer falls asleep half way through, because she's finished by the time she would normally only be half way through.

ive been wondering this too so thanks for asking!
Ruby was onto size 2 teats within a few weeks, but the next size up (mam) is recommended for 4months plus. shes only 7 weeks, but i think she needs to go up to it already! Shes sucking so hard that she is 'clicking' the teat if that makes sense..

Joseph had tommee tippee bottles and I put him on to Variflo teats, it did seem to help a bit but he had colic still til he was about 3 months old. I've never tried Dr Browns bottles but if they do variflo teats they might be worth a try, that way your LO controls the flow of milk xx

I up,d Lily to the 6m+ teats last wk and now she is taking 6~7oz each feed where as she was taking 3~4oz big jump cos its not tiring her out the 3month+ made little difference

little update! We changed the teat which seemed to make him happier but it didnt last long and we ended up at the out of hours doc this morning as he just wasnt wanting to take his feed, sucking for say 10 seconds at a time then crying and when i say crying it was awful red in the face unconsolable :(

she has prescribed gaviscon for infants as he already uses infacol for colic... we have used it for last 3 bottles and it has made a big difference! Let just hope it lasts ...

Infant Gaviscon is what the doctors put Mia on just over a week ago as nothing else was working, and so far its helped her. She still not perfect but far better than she was, so hope it works for you!
