Techy peeps - strange icon appeared on my phone?

I have no idea where to look for help with this. Google is no help either Basically, this strange letter g is appearing on my samsung galaxy s2 screen and it won't go away. It's there in apps, when I open my gallery, when I use my camera and more and it's starting to annoy me. I've put a pic of it below in case anyone can help me. Thanks!

Have you checked for a software update? It might help.

I get what you mean with annoying icons though. I have the S3 and phone icon constantly has a *1* on it indicating that I have a missed call. Doesn't matter if there is none or 10 missed calls, it's there. I did a software update yesterday and it's still there.

Hope you get it resolved soon. Can't really offer any advice though.

That is the google symbol, id say its just showing you are logged into google accounts such as gmail (androids by default try to log you int a gmail account or sign up for one) or its saying you have a gmail, allthough it is backwards for some reason.

I agree with Smokey, that is the Google symbol but I wouldn't have a clue why it's there sorry x
