I'm at a loss with Coralie at the moment, and think I need to refresh her routine a little bit as her milk intake is all over the place as is her solids :dohh:

One day she'll have loads, next hardly anything

What are your 8 month olds doing food and solids wise?

:flow:

Maria is having about 5 or 6 milk feeds a day and maybe one or two at night still. She has 3 meals and 2 snacks a day but the amount she eats varies from day to day - she's been a bit off most solids lately, only really wanting to snack on cucumber sticks.

mine goes as follows

5.30-6am - 6oz bottle
9am - something like shreddies with cows milk
12.30 - lunch normally a mix of fruit or pasta, baked potato or pizza pitta
5.30 - dinner normally what we're having so yesterday it was spag bol but we do her cottage pie, roast chicken, casserole etc
7pm - betime bottle, we offer 8oz but she normally takes 6/7oz of it

Her milk intake isn't great so we try and give her a dairy rich diet

Zach has - Bottle when he wakes. 6am ish. I make 7 oz. He normally drinks half, then i use the other to make up his porridge. After this he normally drinks the 1 or 2 oz that are left and falls asleep.

11.30am - 4oz. Little pick me up till Lunch.

12.30 - Lunch. He has half a jar of stage 1 baby food. He will not eat anything with lumps in! Then as of yesterday iv been giving him fruit to eat after, grapes cut up tiny, or strawberries.

2/3pm. Bottle 6oz.

5.00 - Tea. Same as lunch.

7.00pm - 7oz Bottle.

He still has 5oz bottle in then night too. If he has this early in the morning 3/4am. He doesnt have 11.30am bottle. As he has breakfast when he wakes. Then the rest of the bottle a bit later.

:flow:

Thanks ladies :flow:

I'm thinking I should start offering Coralie snacks throughout the day, at the moment she's on 5 milk feeds in the day, and atleast 1 night feed alongside 3 meals.

She hasn't had night feeds since she was 4 months, but as soon as she hit 7 months she now wants a feed at night. I don't mind giving it to her - but I want to make sure she actually wants it and isn't just waking cause I don't feed her enough in the day iykwim?

What sort of snacks should be offered? Fruit?

I used to love weaning but it's getting all too confusing now she isn't just on sweet potato puree anymore :haha:

I give fruit/yoghurt/rice cakes/ veg sticks for snacks

Thanks hun :flow:

I feel at a loss with this recently! Going to sit down and rejig her routine tonight to squeeze in snacks!

:munch:

Haha that's how I feel about Coralie!!

It's like it's non stop. I've started calling Coralie's highchair the feeding station :haha:

:haha: I think its time for some lunch now! No idea what to give her though as we're out of leftovers

ella has a bottle when we come downstairs - between 6am-8am (depends when we wake up) about 30-60 minutes later she has breakfast which can be anything from weetabix to toast to fruit.

She then has a bottle around 12noon and then lunch between 1pm and 2pm. Tea is around 4:30-5pm and another bottle at bedtime which as the moment we are trying to jiggle about and see if it helps her night sleep so tonight it was about 6:45pm.

In general she eats everything she is given - apart from anything dropped on the floor. Because she just seems to eat and eat and eat I do worry she is having too much.

Gracie is currently having 3 meals and 3 7oz bottles. Well was until today when I went to get her weighed the HV told me to drop the mid afternoon bottle. I didn't offer it and she was absolutely fine. So I'm not going to give it anymore. She just had a rusk instead, which kind of defeated the object. Usually I take a pot of fruit or rice cakes out with me for snacks throughout the day. x

Poppy has: 7am ready brek/weetabix/baby cereal (made with some of bottle) and fruit then the rest of the bottle.
11am bottle
12pm lunch (3 cubes veggie meal and 2 cubes veggies)and a yogurt
5pm tea (3 cubes meat/fish meal and 2 cubes veggies) and pudding/fruit pot
7pm bottle

Yep, it's an endless round of prepping food, giving it, picking it off the floor and out of ears, cleaning the chair and starting all over again.

Noo isn't on snacks yet but she's not 8 months. She has 4 bottles of 7oz per day approx every 3.5 - 4 hours and her meals about an hour to two hours after her milk so it's evenly spaced out.

Moo I wish I could get Coralie to take a 7oz bottle. If I could I don't think i'd have any problems! I'm lucky if she'll take 4 ozs!

I've rejigged her schedule for today, fx it helps her :D

Have introduced a mid morning and mid afternoon snack so we'll see

Good luck! How often are you trying the 4oz?

Give her plenty of natural yoghurt with fruit to fill her up!

Why didn't I think of that?! Right off to buy natural yoghurt at lunch.

I give her bottles at 7am, 12pm, 4pm, 7.30pm and then whenever she wakes at night :flow:

About the same timings as us then. Is there a point in the day where she will drink the full bottle? If so, try gradually making that a bigger bottle? Or give her 3 larger bottles more spaced out?

When I had problems with Noo I would give her some (with a fight) and then leave it 30-40 mins and get her to drink most of the remainder.

Thanks I think I shall try that!! I am tempted to do three bigger bottles but i'm scared she won't take them

She's not keen on the 4pm one at all so I could drop that. Then maybe 7am, 12pm, 7.30pm? Actually that may work! Because she will drink a lot of her morning bottle (as long as she hasn't had a feed earlier that morning/night iykwim and at lunchtime she drinks a reasonable amount too. The last few days she's been having a lot of her goodnight milk bottle too so maybe she's trying to tell me something :dohh:

go for it, might take a few days to change tho. personally i would go 7, 1.30 and 7.30, give her chance to get hungry in between?
