Hey, I am hoping someone can help me! I am not pregnant right now but I am hoping to be trying as of the end of next month.

I have just qualified as a teacher last year, I had an one year contract last year but I am now covering a long term sick leave until next month. There is a strong chance I will be employed permanently in the same school, and in the same council, straight away. I have been employed full time by them since mid August.

I can't start trying again at the end of November after my ectopic. I was just wondering what sort of payments I would be able to claim if I was to fall pregnant.

If it helps. I earn about £25,000 and my partner earns roughly the same. He works full time and has been in his job for nearly a decade. We live together and have no other kids.

You would I think just be entitled to the stat SMP provided you meet all the conditions, and any occupational maternity that they provide as well. And obv, child benefit. For what you both earn you will have too much for tax credits above the £545 that every child gets.

Thanks. Not sure if it is feasible just now or not, but it is a bit awkward contacting my employer as there is a full time permanent job coming up soon and I want to make sure I am considered!
