Texts from HMRC about renewal

Hi everyone

Has anyone else received texts from HMRC saying if you don't renew your tax credits will stop? I renewed weeks ago and have received my final decision letter etc, but keep getting these texts and I'm worried that some technical fault somewhere will cause my tax credits to stop. Please tell me I'm not the only he getting these texts and that they are just generic!

I've tried phoning this morning but been on hold for 45 mins and ended up with screaming children I had to deal with so ended up hanging up!

Hi, sorry, I've not had any texts. I renewed in early June and haven't had any further correspondence from them. Have you tried logging in to their web site and sending a question as at this time of year the telephone is virtually impossible to get through on because of last minute renewers. Good luck.

Thanks for the response I rang at 7.30 tonight actually and got straight through (tip for if you ever want to get through ring in the evening apparently!) and the woman said they are generic and if I have done it and received my award notice then it's all sorted. So fingers crossed on Friday I actually still get my payment coz that's when my next one is due too!

That all sounds really positive. Fingers crossed for you for Friday although it doesn't sound as though you have anything to worry about.

We've had 3 or 4 reward notices now, none of them have had hubby's correct salary on but we did the renewal about 4 weeks ago. I'm getting worried!
