Well after nearly 2 and a half years ttc....am now on 4th round of clomid...which is making me ovulating...but still not getting pregnant..i have decided not to put my life on hold anymore. I have 2 more cycles of clomid and then that is it...i will b 43 in Aug and the chances of ivf working at that age are minimal... and me and dh would have to pay for it as i am too old for funding...although where i live if you are under 40 you now get 6 attempts on the NHS!!! so i realise that having a baby will n ot happen for me...and to be honest i feel quite liberated....dh and i have booked to go to the maldives for xmas...we went for our honeymoon last nov and said that we would love to go back, my mum died recently and left us some money so we are going to use some of that....i have no family now so the thought of being in the UK was not a happy one. We have also decided to buy a brand new house...so are soring out deposit and mortgage etc...we are renting at the mo, but thanks to my dear mum we now have a deposit...we are looking at a 3 bed house a few mins from here and it will be ready in the spring. And dh is going to change his car for a sports car and i am downsizing my car to a tiny toyota...i feel really good and positive that i am lucky to have all this to look forward too. Although the girls at work all said they were jealous that i was going back to the maldives...but i said that i would rather be in their position...spending xmas with parents and children but i cant so i am making the most of things!!! well thats me for tyhe timebeing...i am seeing fs tomorrow...i should have finished all my cycles of clomid before seeing him but had a break from it when looking after dear mum. so we will see what he has to say...but at the end of the day i am still a lucky girl.
Good luck to you all for getting your bfp xxxx

I'm sorry things didn't go to plan - but you have a fantastic attitude and I'm sure you and your DH will enjoy life to the fullest with or with out children in your lives.
Once you've enjoyed the Maldives it's time to explore the rest of the world. South East Asia is fantastic!
Enjoy all the new adventures in your life.
Ps we're booking to go to Vegas - we kept waiting to see if I'd get PG - but I haven't - so Vegas here we come.

Sorry to hear things haven't been going well for you sweetie! Good luck with the rest of your Clomid cycles and if no luck have a fabulous time in the maldives. You never know what's around the corner so enjoy everything xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hey huni, would you not try an attempt of IVF with the money your mum left you? It could be worth it, not saying rush into anything but you know you have a little money it might be worth it to give it a go and you never know..
xx

Twinkle wish you the best of luck in everything you do. You have a very good attitude. enjoy your travels and the new house.

Wow, you have a wonderful attitude hon :)

I am a little curious to why you decided not to pursue adoption or surrogacy/donor eggs, but thats just me being nosy

Hi there, dont worry i dont think you are nosey at all. I would not consider adoption as i am adopted myself and the urge to have somone that is genetically a part of me is overwhelming so i would not adopt,,and surrogacy i dont like the thought of, and donor eggs are so difficult to get and also the child would not gentically be mine.....i hope u understand where i am coming from...its just very personal having been adopted. My adoptive parents were amazing and i loved them both so much...i could not have wanted for a better life. I have since met my birth mother...just out of curiosity...thank god i did...a complete shock...she is anglo indian!!!! that doesnt bother me at all..she is beautiful...but looking at me you would never know my heritage...but i do tan very dark very easily...and i have got very hairy legs!!!! But at least i know my background as if ever we were to be blessed with a child...the indian bit could skip a generation and we would have a beautiful dark skinned baby and my husband would probably have wanted some answers..lol!!!
Anyway heres to both of us getting our bfp xxx

Hi Twinkle

I love your attitude! ME and DH had a heart to heart the other night where I said that if we haven't managed to get pregnant in the next couple of years, then we will accept our lot and move on. I am only 32 and he is 35 so I know in theory I still have a chance for a few years yet but for me its not just about having a family for us. All our family and friends are slowly leaving us behind, they've finished their families and we haven't even started. I don't want our children to always be the youngest and the odd ones out. And I don't want to be older parents. ITs difficult to explain but if it doesn't happen in the next couple of years we will have been trying for 5 years and I can't keep my life on hold for any longer.

Good luck!
PS. If you do get your BFP I'm sure your baby will be beautiful!
