Baby zachary arrived via emergancy c-section at 3.45am on the 25/1/12 weighing 7lb 9ozs at 40+1 gestation.
I had a midwife appointment at 39+2 and mentioned to her the severe headaches and visiual problems I'd been having. She took my blood pressure and it was 140/90 and I had trace protein in my urine. She told me to call the hospital if the headache hadn't gone by 4/5pm that afternoon.
The headache hadn't gone so they told me to come in and bring my stuff.
I got to the hospital and they did all the usal checks. Bp still at 140/90 but I now had +++ protein in my urine. They put me on the ctg monitor to check on the baby and they noticed I was contracting. I'd had really bad backache all day but didn't know it was contrctions!! I was checked and was at 1cm. My bp was being taken on and off whilst I was on the monitor and had now reached 160/100. I normally run at 100/60.they plan was to admit me to ante-natal do bp and urine checks and induce me. The doctor told me I would not be leaving without my baby.
I was put on the antenatal ward for regular monitoring and I had a scan to check zac and my placenta function.

The induction finally began at 39+5 when I got my first pessary propess. I got the propess in and it had to stay in for 24 hours. I walked around the hospital and contractions started but the propess slipped back out. I got it re-inserted and went walking pretty much all day until the contractions where taking my breath away.the propess eventually fell out down the loo
The next day I got checked by the doctors and was at 1-2cm and they said they where going to get me a bed on labour ward and break my waters. They also gave me the gel to help with the last of the thinning out.

On my due date I got moved round to labour ward at 10am. I phoned my mum and my nan and they came to the hospital. I also called my OH to let him know and he made his way back from work to the hospital.
A consultant 4 doctors and 2 midwifes came in to talk to me. They explained that they where going to try and break my waters and put me on the drip. I had the oxytocin drip. The consultant advised me to get an epidural due to the drip and to my blood pressure. I relluctantly agreed.
My midwife tried to break my waters but couldn't do it so the doctor came. She examined me and was pretty confident she could do it. She asked the midwife for the hook thing they use but there wasn't one in the room so the midwife had to go and get one. It was weird with the doctor just sitting there with her hand inside me  she told me that she could feel my babys head whilst we were waiting. The midwife eventually came back and the doctor fished about inside me with the hook. I'm not gunna lie it was painful!! Eventually I felt this warm leak trickle out and said "is that it" haha. Then I had that movie style gush and it just kept coming. I went through 4 of their big inco pads and they put maternity pads on me and I soaked through those the pads and the bed  for anyone who wants to know my waters where bright pink with bloody bits and some weird oangey mucusy lumps. I had a small bump all the way through pregnancy so don't know where all that water was. Everytime I got a contraction I had a hot gush of fluid. I stood up and in the time I took me to put a pad some knickers and some trouses on I'd left a puddle on the floor. I got walking and every contraction I had to stop because the trickling was to gross.

They asked me to come lay on the bed and put me on the minitor. They attached the drip and put it down low whilst we where waiting for the epidural. The contractions hwere painful as I had to lay on my back so she gave me the gas and air. Lovely stuff. I can't remeber when but they where having some problems monitoring his heartbeat so wanted to put the clip on his head. This was extremly painful and they told me to use my gas but I was laughing my face off and had to remeber to keep still. They also put a catheta in me for when I got the epidural in. I got the epidural in but there where doubts if it was in the right place. And it wasn't.
My midwife turned the drip up after I got the fail of an epidural and the contractions got stronger longer and eventually began coming on top of eachother. I was sucking and bitting on the gas. My midwife paged them to come back and do my epidural and eventually went to look for him herself.
I got the epidural re-sited and it offered some relief for a while. The only thing it did was numb my legs
Soon the contractions went back to how they where before but a lot more painful as the drip had been turned up and up.

LO started having de-cellerations and the midwifes called the doctors in. They looked at the ctg and his heart rate and it was dipping everytime I had a contraction. The doctor tried to explain to me through contractions that they have three heartbeat catagories. Nice and normal, not so good let's pay attention and this isn't good let's do something about it and she said that LOs was heading towards the last one.

The drip had caused my uterus to hyperstimulate so they turned it off and said they would be back in half an hour. The came back as I was getting the epidural re-sited again. They said zac was still having de-cells that where getting dangerous and they needed to do an emergancy c-section. I had to take my tounge bar out and sign the consent form and then I was wheeled straight to theatre.

There where so many people in theatre and once they where about to start they put a screen up in front of me. He sprayed some cold stuff on me to check the effectivness of the epidural. I knew when they started as I could feel them rummaging around inside me. It was sooo painful and yup the epidural hadn't gone up high enough. They kept topping it up in theatre but it wasn't working. In the end I ended up with a GA.
I was wheeled back into my room on the labour ward and they handed him to me and the first thing I said was " he's heavy" we had skin to skin and he latched for 30 minutes. Turns out the cord was so tight around his neck that he couldn't get his head down on the cervix and make it dilate. I had my section at 3cms.

I am now on the maternity high dependance room on the delivary suiete. I got a tempreature after delivary avaraging around 38.4. Nothing was shown in my bloods or swabs they took and they couldn't figure it out. They have put me on IV antibiotics to cover all grounds. I also had a recorded blood loss of 1000ml of blood in theatre but they think I lost more. I had a 4 unit blood transfusion after my iron dropped to 6.2. The acceptable level is 11. I had a vaginal ultrasound and abdominal and nothing showed up. I had a CT scan wich showed I have internal bleeding from my section.
From when I came into hospital till now its been 2 weeks and I'm still on the HDU. I just really want to go home with my little man.
