I went into labor early Saturday morning on January 7th, 2 weeks before my due date. My waters broke while I was just about to go in the car to the shops. My husband was also just about to go to work. I started panicking as it was so unexpected. There had been no signs of going into labor before this. I went back inside the house, got cleaned up and called the hospital. They told us to come in when the contractions got stronger. The contractions had started and came about every 10 minutes. At 3pm the contractions got stronger, so we headed to the hospital. By time we got there it was 5pm and I was so exhausted already. The doctor checked and said that I was 6cm dilated. A few hours later the doctor said I was 9cm dilated and to start pushing. I remember pushing for about an hour until eventually I heard the cry that melts your heart. All that pushing was worthwhile and I was handed my beautiful baby girl, Aaliyah. She weighed 7lbs and my supportive husband and I felt so lucky to have welcomed a beautiful baby girl, after suffering a miscarraige previously before.
Since then, I can't believe within 10 day she has already grown so much. She has bought so much joy into our lives and I couldn't imagine life without her.
