Moving your child into a "big bed" where they quickly discover they can get out of bed whenever they like......

Forgot how painful this was with DS1......put DS2 back in 24 times today for afternoon nap...and will probably take double that amount tonight.....sigh

Just needed a vent

😂 this is why we have a stairgate on my son's door. It took 6 months for him to stop repeatedly getting up 🙄 TBH I think we probably moved him a bit early in hindsight

Oh dear! I never had this problem with either of mine but think this was the only thing I was lucky with! I must admit I used to stay in rooms until asleep, still do with youngest. Neither would get out if I was in there and would rather 10-15 mins sat in room than an hour or more repeatedly putting back to bed!

I've bought my 18 month old a bed but haven't been brave enough to use it yet for this reason! lol.

With my daughter she was in a room with me until she was over 2 (we lived in a tiny 1 bed flat til her brother came along) so she was in bed with me anyway so I don't have any experience with it. Absolutely dreading it!

Why not just leave him in his cot?

We are going away in April for 2 weeks and his only sleeping option is a single bed. Dont want him to sleep with us otherwise that will start a whole new problem.

Trying to get him use to it before we go.
