Whenever I get the let-down reflex it really hurts! It works its way all the way down into my nipples and my boobs feel like they're going to explode! I either have to feed Kai immediately or express the milk really quickly.

Does anyone else find it painful or uncomfortable?

Yes, it hurts me a bit too. Well, it's more of a cramping/pinching sensation rather than pain and it has got less uncomfortable as time has progressed.

it used to be uncomfortable in the first month or 2 but now all i feel is let down when he's on the other side, and it's sort of like a warm tingly sensation, not quite uncomfortable.

Never has hurt me, infact in the beginning months i couldn't even feel a 'let-down'. I can sometimes feel something now, its a nice reassuring feeling though i quite like it, i know that a second or so later she is going to be gulping down the milk.

Maybe i'm weird but i like the let-down feeling lol

i only feel my let down on the side shes not feeding from, its kind of weird, like a cramp all up the side of my boob, getting worse and worse and then the milk comes out and it goes

odd

It is probably just because you are fairly new to breastfeeding, with your baby only about a month old. Your milk supply is still adjusting, so you probably feel engorged and will end up with a faster let down than you will in a couple of months time. Also, you will be a lot more used to the feeling.

Don't worry, it will get easier!

I have quite a fast let down and it used to feel really intense for a quite a while after my baby started feeding (and the milk would literally spurt out). However, now, even though I still have a fast let down, the let down feeling only lasts for a couple of seconds and it is not as intense a feeling as it initially was in the beginning.

Doesnt hurt exactly, but i do get a powerful feeling.

Yes, the feeling is so hard to explain, but it does hurt a bit. Even though I have been breastfeeding for over 9 months, I still feel it.

Omg yes it's like painful pins and needles and ouch it's toe curling, i hope it calms down for you soon xx

ooooh weird I have a REALLY strong let down and just feel a slight tingle.... and thats if I really think about it.

it hurt me too but after the first month it stopped completly and *touch wood* i haven't had it again since. I was beginning to consider giving up but i'm glad i didn't!

Yeah mine used to feel like I was having needles stuck into my nipples and was quite overwhelming. I used to get it all the time, even when she wasn't feeding or even due to feed. It finally started to calm down about 4 weeks ago though and now I only get a slight tingle when she does actually feed.

It gets better with time. It is a very powerful feeling isn't it.
It's made me think of that t-shirt you can get that says:
I make milk!
What's your superpower?
In no way do I mean to diss on formula here, if you can breastfeed, great, if you can't (for whatever reason) formula is great too :)
