Why are there pop up ads that scroll on the bottom the web page and others that scroll to the middle of the screen. I can handle the change of look, but the ads are really annoying. They even appear when I am logged in.
They dont always appear though.

Could you take a screen shot of any ads that are disturbing your forum using the forum please.

I started getting those ads at the bottom too a few days ago. Just had the boost mobile one that you posted in the second screenshot show up actually.

I have been getting a macy's ad that covers the entire forum page that I have to exit out of.

I use an Ad blocker, I hate ads with a vengence! I know BNB needs them to survive though and although Im not a fan of the new layout and logo's etc I will put up with it as I still think its a nice retreat to come to now and then and listen to other mummys stories its still one of the better baby sites to come to , I'd be scared signing up to a new one now:)

I was attempting to ignore the rollover ones by keeping my mouse to the left of the screen, but they pop up anyway? Just wondering why..

I was on another forum, very large like this one, and the adds started like this, just annoying adds for stores and whatnot. Then to make even more revenue for the forum, the owner started using a service for his adds, that had viruses, trojan horses, adware and spyware. It crashed 2 computers, thank goodness my DH is a network engineer, and he was able to fix it, but the website to this day is nothing but a sesspool of eherpes. The owner was reported, because what he was doing was illegal. And then the sneaky little porn adds started, now this is a cloth diapering forum. I will never, ever go there again, because my computer starts going haywire. I really, really hope that BNB does not turn out like this, I would be very sad. I just would like to caution the owners, that this can and does happen. I have noticed my computer a tad more sluggish when I come here, and I also notice that it locks up on occasion, and I hope that it is just a fluke. It would suck to have the problems that I had at the other place, because this place is much cooler!!! LOL!!

I was going to start a thread asking about this, but found this one.

The macy's ad just appeared on my computer and covered the whole screen and then it froze and I had to restart, but it could be because I have an old computer maybe?

Please tell me I won't get anything bad from using this site! I am not good with computers and this is one of the FEW (I literally only visit this, my email, and some other baby sites, like babycenter) sites I trust (yes I have virus software but I don't trust it because the last laptop I had got a virus even though I had software installed).

The ads are annoying but I can deal with them, next time I will take a screen shot if someone tells me how to do it. I am just scared it will do something bad to my computer. :(

My OH told me how to do a screenshot, but he also told me that the reason I see the ad is because the mouse scrolls over them so they pop up. NOT cool if one has a breastfeeding baby or is holding a baby (which I am doing all the time!) and the mouse goes all over the place and accidentally finds one. :(

I really appreciate all the hard work you guys have done to make this a cool site and I understand that it was too much work so you needed to find help and I know that all the newer people won't even know the difference and are used to ads and such. Thank you for the last year of helping me with my journey through a loss and then a pregnancy and baby. I picked this site because it was different than all the others and I am very sad now that it is how it is, but completely understand because your family is the most important thing and I will probably still visit it, but I will not hold this site in such high regard and will no longer tell my friends about it.

Thank you for everything you have done and all the hours you have dedicated to this site. :flower:

okay I get it... the macys one pops up becuase the "roll over" is strategically placed by the user cp button.

Yep, I was wondering if there's a way to turn this off. I came on this section ready to post about it, it's really irritating. Occasionally it will pop up right when I'm about to click on something, so I end up clicking on the ad. If I see one more Clinique ad covering almost my whole screen.... arrrrggghhhhh!
