Hi ladies! It's my turn once again... ![flower :flower: :flower:](/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/flower.gif)
I was adamant we were going over due. I swore I was 'spoilt' with my dd's early arrival at 39 weeks and was sure I wouldn't be so lucky this time around. I had a homebirth planned from day one. My reasons were to ensure a birthing pool, I had no idea or even knew the names of the midwives who delivered dd so had no one to thank. Lastly, I wanted one to one care, in my own home and my own bed. No faffing and waiting...
Anyhow. So on Tuesday the 11th, I'd been having some cramping which got worse as I became more active. So I cleaned the house and dragged the oh, LO and dog out for an hours walk. It was hilarious and a walk we shall never forget... We got stuck in mud. Literally. We had to get help. Lol but it made my contractions stronger and regular so we didn't complain... Even if we both lost our shoes....
Unfortunately, when we managed to get home, after a while of sitting down, they stopped completely so off we went out again. That did nothing. I was gutted as I was sure that this was it. However it was! And at about 5' the contractions started again but with a regular pattern. I called the midwife who came to asses me and confirmed I was 2-3 cm sat 8pm. She lives an hours drive away so she decided to stay. Good job too! I found it easy to cope at this point, just by breathing and bouncing on the ball. I changed the bed lining as I wanted fresh bed sheets, helped put up the pool with oh and tried to relax. They started to kick up a notch and midwife asked to examine me before I was allowed in the pool. I declined. I felt like I was progressing well enough to make my own decision. Again, it's so good job! The pool was just full enough to get in but was way too hot so I had everyone running backwards and forwards with cold water. Finally I got in! But then it went too cold lol. After loads more hot water, eventually it was just right and instantly I felt the urge to push. My waters went with a very loud pop and one more push came his head. His body followed and he was born at 00.06 in the morning of Wednesday the 12th feb.
He is absolute perfection! The placenta was no trouble, delivered it in the pool naturally about 45 mins later. They left as soon as they had seen me wee. I didn't tear
had one graze! So pleased with everything. We were all tucked up in bed within three hours. ![Cloud 9 :cloud9: :cloud9:](/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/cloud9.gif)
